I graduated with the class of 1997 at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center majoring in Photography and went on to the Ohio Institute of Photography to get my Associate Degree In Professional Imaging in 2000. I studied lighting, portraiture and graphic design. I was fortunate enough to be attending school while the digital age was just taking off. This gave me the opportunity to learn all the dark room skills that went along with film photography but also learn Photoshop and other programs in their early versions when there were many more steps to learn. There isn’t a session that I encounter that I don’t use skills learned from both of these great schools. I also further my education everyday by staying up to date in the photography world with online resources, articles and seminars.
I don’t’ believe in the word “Can’t”. This is why I’m what you would call a “self taught tech guy”. Photography isn’t just about taking pictures anymore. I’ve found you have to learn the computer side of the field or you’ll never be able to compete. I’m self taught in the basics of web design, retouching, PC tech support, word processing, database management, networking and more related items. With the power of the internet no person should say “I don’t know how to do that”. The information is there and I love to learn how to use it.
I was employed at Robert Knoll Studio of Trotwood Ohio until 2009. I moved to Sevierville Tennessee In the fall of 2009 to pursue my dreams of living south. I love the mountains and the people there. With the skills that I can provide to any studio and client I know I can prove myself irreplaceable.
I love photography. It allows to me to share a special place in all my clients lives. My goal with every session is to have fun while making everyone look great in the process. I stay professional yet at the same time I try to become friends with every client. It makes everyone more relax and the portraits show it. I believe as photographers is our job to give our clients something new and great with every session. We owe it to them to make their portraits irreplaceable.
